AGVs can navigate using different technologies depending on your operational needs:
- Laser guidance: Uses a rotating laser to detect environment reflectors. Highly accurate to a quarter of a centimeter, making it ideal for medical applications.
- Wire guidance: Follows ground tracks (wires, rails, magnetic lines). Requires track installation and is best suited for applications not requiring flexibility.
- Vision guidance: Tracks ground paths recognized by cameras. Low installation cost and does not require complex ground infrastructure setup.
- Geographical navigation: Utilizes mapped software representations of the environment for independent movement. This is the most reliable, flexible solution as routes can be dynamically recalculated.
